Caffeinated card for challenge

Coffee loving cardmakers are hosting a bloghop to celebrate spring summer, and I've made a couple of coffee cards to enter the challenge, here's a couple of pictures:

I've used coffee stamps from Unity stamp co and Papirdesign, and the background is made with Distress Oxides in Hickory Smoke and Ground Espresso

Growing in Unity Friday

It's Friday! I can't believe how quickly this week has gone. Today I've got a couple of coffee cards for you. I took the cue from the coffee stamp included in the April 2020 Kit of the Month.

One of my favourite colour combinations in the Distress Oxide range is Ground Espresso with Hickory Smoke and I created the background by using the "smooshing" technique, you smoosh the ink pad on a piece of acetate or glass, mist it with a little water and press the paper in to the ink. Heat set and repeat with a different colour, build as many layers as you want. I usually find that if I don't really like the background after a couple of layers I haven't added enough, so I keep going. If I in the end find I really don't like it, well it's just paper.
The small coffee cups stamped on the background is from the December 2019 Kit of the Month and I used VersaFine Clair ink in the Acorn colour.
I added some old lace and a ribbon to give the card an "old café feeling".

Growing in Unity - Thursday

Wow, Thursday already! It is amazing how quick the time flies. This time I want so show you two cards with the Donna Poppies. I cut the panel first and mounted the stamp in my Misti stamping tool, stamping first one flower in the corner and then turning the paper 180 degrees and stamping again. VersaFine Onyx black was the ink used and the poppies were coloured with Dylusions Postbox red spray ink. Splatted the card with water and lifted off some of the colour to create more life. I made black frames with my Gina Marie Designs wonky rectangles and mounted the panel with 3D foams strips on the card. The diecut is from Papirdesign and is the Norwegian word for Congratualtions

The second card was made more or less the same way, but this time I fuzzy cut the blooms and mounted them on the frame. The sentiment is from the January 2020 Say it with Love sentiment kit the orange butterfly is from the same kit

Growing in Unity Wednesday

Hello all! Today I've got a couple of butterfly cards, I simply adore butterflies.

This card started with little piece of white paper where I played around with when I first got my blending brushes from Picket Fence: I grabbed a butterfly stencil from Prima, some Distress Oxide stamp pads and went to town. I stamped the small butterflies from the April 2020 Kit of the Month, cut a small panel from the test paper, added the big butterfly from the July 2019 Kit of the Month that I stamped, coloured and fuzzy cut before I glued them on top. The sentiment is from the April kit.

Growing in Unity - Tuesday

Today I have two similar cards to show you. I just love galaxy cards, there's just something so dreamy about them, and I thought it would be perfect with a galaxy background for the stamp of the woman looking out on the stars and planets from the February 2020 Kit of the Month. All the stamps used on these cards are from that kit.

On this first card, I made the background, and after I made sure it was dry I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder the motif. The text is stamped with white pigment ink on black cardstock
This second card was made the same way as the first, but here I limited the number of colours for the background to 3, the first one was a full rainbow 7.

Growing in Unity (GUI) Monday

If you've come by my blog earlier you might have an inkling that I like the Stamps from Unity Stamp co. Well you might say that i LIIIIIIKE them, and some of them I do love. So when I got the opportunity to be Growing in Unity Girl I was more than happy.
Yesterday was Norways Constitution day which usually is celebrated with childrens parades, marching bands, and lots of fun and people in the streets. Due to Covid-19 the celebrations were a bit different this year, but we celebrated all the while. So to mark the national holiday (and my sisters birthday), I'm showing a floral card today.

I have combinedthe floral motif from You are forever beautiful with one of the Congrats from the May 2019 sentiment kit - Say it big. I stamped the images with VersaFine Onyx ink on Fabriano Hotpressed water color cardstock and coloured with Dylusions inks (water brushes filled with coloured ink). The frame was made using nested Wonky rectangles from Gina Marie Design, cutting out of Bazzill white cardstock.

I'm rather fond of keeping it clean and simple and want the beautiful floral to shine on its own.

Materials:
Envelopes: Creotime hvite kort

The May challenge is "Rainbow greetings)
I love Rainbows and this time I wanted to change it up a little, so I grabbed my favourite Distress oxide colours a brand new stencil from Giogiocraft and went to town. The text die is from Papirdesign.

The second inspiration card is made with the same supplies, I just changed the stencil for one from Altenew and used the colours in rainbow order.
